Tote Bag and Pouch

Here's my simple bag. I bought this fabric a long time ago to make myself an apron but never got around to it. I thought it would make a nice bag for my friend's roommate. Her name is Marty. She is an elderly lady and ended up in the rehab center due to her injuries. When I went to visit my friend a couple of weeks ago to give her a bag Marty mentioned that she wished she had a bag, any bag to put her belongings in when she can go home. I kept thinking about Marty so this week since my friend is well enough to go home I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to visit her one last time at the rehab center and give Marty this bag.
Last night, I was figuring out the bag and measurements to cut. I wanted it big but not so big that she couldn't use it everyday if she chose. When I finished the bag, it came out taller than I had planned. This is what happens when I figure out things in my head and put it on paper. I never know how it's really going to turn out until I am done. Since it's taller than I had planned I make a large flower to accent the front of the bag.

I don't know if Marty will use this bag after she gets home but I added a zippered pocket and two good size pockets on the inside to hold cell phones or other belongings secure.

I had some large leftover pieces so I whipped up a zipper pouch to go with the bag for Marty to take home any toiletries she may have. It's not a huge pouch but it'll hold little things and keep them organized.

I still have a bit more of the gum ball looking fabrics left. I'll have to figure something else to do with it so all the scraps will be used up. I think my simple tote bag is now a bit on the complicated side with the addition of the zippered pocket. I couldn't help myself :-D

Cell Phone/Camera Case

I would never think I would make a cell phone or camera case until now. This is by special request for a friend that's in a rehabilitation center while recovering from her injury. She asked that I make a hook for her to be able to hang the pouch onto her wheelchair. This also matches the bag I made for her which I gave as a gift to help cheer her up while she's in rehab.

Beach Bags/Travel Bags

It's time to head out to the beach for some fun! Nothing like hanging out at the beach with a good book, taking a leisure stroll and squeezing in a nice little nap.
I've been dying to show you what I've been working on  to take along with me to the beach or traveling. These are the new beach/travel bags that I've made and will be adding to the shop later today.
Introducing the Groovy beach/travel bag. I love these groovy prints. Oh so much fun.

Oh the pleats were so much fun to make. It's not only pretty but functional too. I've turned them into pockets so you'll have lots of room to bring all your beach necessities with you. These bags will fit plenty of towels, sunscreen, cell phone, some reading materials or whatever your heart desires for a day at the beach.
The zipper pocket on the interior of the bag keeps all your small things secure.

Since this is a very nice size you could also take it with you for those fun weekend getaways too. I can fit a lot of stuff in this bag.

I love the prints for this Seaside bag.

The Seaside bag is large enough to be used as a computer bag. It fits a 13" Macbook Pro, a camera and accessories to go along with it. There are SO many possibilities for this beautiful bag.

This one is SUPER large. I call this the Catalina bag. It's perfect to take on a weekend getaway or a day at the beach. It holds a ton of stuff.

Just so you can get an idea of how large this bag is. Our lovely daughter is 5'6" tall.

I have a coupon code offer for you today.

Head on over to 733 Blog to grab the code and go shopping.
Right now I am taking custom orders. If you would like a bag or accessory in a different print, we can work together to choose the fabric styles you would like that's in our inventory.
These are available in limited quantities. All pleatings are done by moi by hand so no two will look the same.

New Zippered Pouch

I found some beautiful fabrics to make a new zippered pouch. This one has a green batik print paired with a tropical floral print. I am calling this one Tropical Punch. It reminds me of Hawaii. Such a fun combination. This zippered pouch is now in the shop. BTW... You now have two ways to shop. Right here and in my Etsy store.

New Crossbody Bags

I've been busy coming up with new bag styles to add to the shop. I love this damask fabric paired with grey and those ruffles add just the right touch. This is the pink damask crossbody bag available in 2 sizes. It has 2 pockets inside organize your necessities. Check out the adjustable strap, how fun is it to be able to wear it as a purse or crossbody style?

I also opened an Etsy shop today to give you more options to shop. Check it out here.
